Nah ! I am not going to tell you again about Taj or Qutub Minar or Goa beaches. Neither I am going to suggest you any of the most visited places of the country, your trip organisor may already have suggested. In my opinion, the joy of tourism lies in visiting the places that are less visited, and still remains neat and clean in their natural form.

India is a big country which has so many beautiful places which worth visiting at least once in life time. Here is my list of 10 such most beautiful places of India where you will find true beauty of nature in its original form –

1. Yumthang Valley, Sikkim

Yumthang Valley, also known as ‘Valley of Flowers’ is situated in the state of Sikkim, in the North-East part of India. When you visit this valley in Spring, you’ll find the flower blossoms at their best. During summer the valley seems to be a pasture land for yaks.

2. Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh

Khajjiar is also known as ‘Switzerland of India’. It is situated in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. What you want to see ? Lakes, pastures, and forests all are there to see and feel at one single place.

3. Drass, Jammu & Kashmir

Drass is also referred to be the gateway to Laddakh. It is situated in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in Kargil district. Drass is also known as the second coldest place of Asia, though, during the spring and summer the valley becomes extremely beautiful and picturesque.

4. Magnetic Hill, Laddakh

If you want to feel the magic of nature, visit Magnetic hill of Laddakh once. The hill is located near Leh, where your car will seem to move upward with ignition off. Though it is just optical illusion and no magnetic disturbance is there at all.

5. Sandakphu, Darzeeling

Like trekking ? Wanna see four highest peaks of world standing at a single place ? Visit Sandakphu peak situated in the Darzeeling district of West Bengal, from where you can have the view of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Lhotse peaks.

6. Hogenakkal Falls, Tamil Nadu

You can call Hogenakkal Falls the ‘Niagara Falls of India’. The scenery here is so beautiful you won’t even like to blink your eyes. These falls are situated on the river Kaveri in the Dharampuri district of Tamil Nadu.

7. Floating Lake of Loktak, Manipur

The lake of Loktak, located in the north-eastern state of India, Manipur presents a unique kind of natural beauty due to the floating phumids. Phumids are heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil, and organic matters which decompose at various stages on it. The Loktak lake is the largest lake of fresh water in the country.

8. Auroville, Tamil Nadu

Auroville, the city of Dawn is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu in the district Viluppuram, near Puducherry. This beautiful city was originated in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa, also known as “The Mother” and designed by architect Roger Anger.

9. Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh
