14 Incredible World Records Set By The Indians


Our country is called ‘Incredible India’ because the people of this country, who are incredible in the nature. Our life style, our way of doing things are quite different from the rest of the world. In this post, I am going to talk about some amazing things achieved by the Indians, which are actually World Records.

1. Akshat Saxena
Indians World Records

This child born with 7 fingers on each hand and 10 toes in each foot, securing his place in the Guinness World Records in 2011.

2. Sufyan Shaikh
World records set by Indians

He is the youngest swimmer from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India who completed swimming in nine seas – Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf, North Sea, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Adriatic Sea, Mediterranean Sea and India Ocean – within a period of 3 years 6 months  and 6 days. His name is added in the Limca Book of Records in 2007.

3. K. Damodaran
World records set by Indians

Indian chef, who cooked 617 dishes in just 24 hours and made a Guinness World Record in 2011.

4. Jaspal Singh Kalsi
World records set by Indians

Jaspal Singh from Amritsar, India made the smallest complete handmade chess set and set a World Record in 2007. The size of his tiny chess board is 32 X 32 mm, the largest piece (the King) measures 13 mm in height and the smallest (the pawn) measures 7 mm in height. All the pieces have a base of 3 mm in diameter.

5. Jyoti Amge
World records by Indians

She is just 62.8cm (24.7 inches) tall at the age of 18, even shorter than an average two-year-old. Her name was added to Guinness World Records in 2012.

6. Ram Singh Chauhan
World records set by the Indians

Growing moustache is considered to be a matter of pride in India, however, Ram Singh Chauhan of Jaipur took it so seriously that it earned a World Record for him in 2013. The length of his moustache is 18 feet.

7. Arushi Bhatanagar
World Records by Indians

You can call her a born artist because she was the youngest one to hold a solo painting exhibition when she was just 11 months old. Her name had been added to Guinness Book of World Records in 2003.

8. Vijay Sharma
World record set by Indians

This 27 year old is also known as the ‘Rubber man’ due to the flexibility of his body. He can wrap his legs over his head, wriggle through a tennis racket and wind his arms around his back. His name was added to the Limca Book of Records in 2001.

9. Asha Bhonsle
World records by Indians

Every Indian knows Asha Bhonsle, but do you know she holds a World record too ? Yes, she created a Guinness world record for singing 11,000 songs till the age of 60.

10. Manigandan Manjunathan
World records by Indians

He holds the world record of the longest journey by motorcycle in a single country , which is 38,239 km (23761 miles). He rode throughout India from 9 November 2014 to 15 February 2015 on a Royal Enfield Classic 500.

11. S. Raju
World records by Indians

He is the fastest man to husk a coconut using the teeth. It took him only 28.06 seconds to husk a coconut measuring 78 cm (30.7 in) in circumference and weighing 4.744 kg (10lb 6.4 oz) at the Ravindra Kalashetra, Bangalore, India on 30 March 2003, which is a World record.

12.  Radha Kant Bajpai
World records by Indians

Bajpai set his world record in 2005 for growing longest ear hair in the world.

13. Shridhar Chillal
Indian world records

Like Ram Singh Chauhan and Radha Kant Bajpai, Shridhar Chillal also has an incredible world record of growing the longest fingernails (4.25 feet) in a single hand. He stopped cutting his nails in 1952.

14. Sachin Tendulkar
World records by Indians

Though he is a man of records but just to include him to this list I am mentioning his name as, in 2010, he made a world record of playing highest number of test matches in a career.
